Content marketing isn’t something that many B&Bs have invested in yet – so there’s lots of opportunity for those that do get involved, as creating useful content can help increase reach, trust and ultimately, bookings.
Here’s three ways to use content as a B&B…
Reach people researching your area
Take advantage of people searching for information and help them discover you when they’re planning their trip. Create blog posts around the information people are looking for that come to your area, for example:
- Best places to eat
- What not to miss
- Best beaches
- Best dog walks
- Secret spots
You can also partner with other local businesses to create content and grow your audience further, for example, team up with a surf school and produce a guide to learning to surf nearby.
Build trust to boost bookings
Content isn’t just for reaching new people, it can also be a way for people to get to know you, increasing their confidence in you, plus the likelihood that they’ll come and stay.
Sharing insights into life at your B&B is a great way to do this, use Instagram or Facebook to share daily snippets such as what’s available for breakfast, the view and little extras you provide to guests. You can also use social media to show people the best bits from your region, increasing the desire to visit!
Answer those questions you always get asked
Thirdly, you can use content to resolve commonly asked questions. At a guess, there’s a couple of questions that you always get asked by potential guests. Make a list of the questions, and create blog posts or pages on your website to answer those questions.
Chances are, there’s other people that are interested in the answers too, but didn’t get as far as asking. By answering the questions upfront, you’re removing barriers to booking and increasing the chance people will go ahead and get in touch.
